  • Understanding ionic liquids-collagen interaction at different hierarchal level to develop biocompatible biomaterials
  • Exploring use of ionic liquids in various leather processing steps like unhairing, fiber opening, tanning, post tanning

Extraction-structure- property relationship of keratin peptides

  • Focus on tuning the solution conditions to extract peptides without losing its functional property
  • Application choice determination based on differentially extracted peptide’s functional behavior

Collagen – small molecule interactions: Directed ordering of collagen assembly

  • Understanding the collagen-small molecule interaction to interdict the excessive accumulation of collagen to fibrotic diseases
