Area of Specialization: Environment and Healthcare (basic and applied research)
  • Microbes and microbial enzymes for synthesis of new compounds; new antibacterial and antifungal agents; degradation of pollutants especially dyes and polyphenolic compounds; degradation of leather wastes; management of expanded polystyrene wastes; UV B inhibitors from microbial species as well as from medicinal plants; identification of gene responsible for enzyme production and degradation; development kit for pathogens identification

  • Recovery of potentially important chemical namely L-DOPA; conversion of polysaccharides to aldehydes, production of nanoparticles using plant active components; self –assembly structures, identification of origin of the leather and allied products

  • Development biocompatible biomaterial and development of material for soft tissue engineering Development of new cross-linkers for stabilization of collagen; bioengineering the proteins for development of a bio adhesive for wet environment and MMP inhibitors; development of hydrogel for tissue regeneration and myoblasts expansion
