Leather goods/accessories contribute to one third of the Indian leather products export. Designers and pattern makers are in good demand in the leather goods industries at India and other countries around the world. Design and making of leather goods involves many skilled operations including sketching, pattern making cutting, table operations, stitching, finishing etc.
There is limited number of institutions to supply the required manpower to the industry. Hence it is aimed to develop a training course which provides convenience and flexibility to the learner so that large number of people are encouraged to enrol and make this a carrier option.
CLRI has developed an online course (or) E-Learning course for leather goods design and fabrication for the benefit of the students in India and abroad.
The course is very unique with easy to understand topics with all the details. In a short time I have come to know about all the details of making leather goods like – machines, tools, process, etc… The bag making video is really excellent.
Normally context on distance learning courses are difficult to understand, I have done a few and found this one very different from others. It has quite an organized and smooth flow of information on various subjects surrounding Leather as a product
The e-learning course was really very interesting, easy to understand with very specific details, in a very short time. As I have double Masters in Fine Arts & MBA, with 8 years of experience in Leather Goods, now with this course I have learnt the major techniques of Leather Goods, which was really very helpful for my future and career. In Fact still interested for more courses in future.
