The first Best of APLF Awards (BOAA) was held in March 2004 to mark the 20th anniversary of APLF’s Material, Manufacturing & Technology fair. The organisers saw the need to raise the bar for all exhibitors by creating an awards program that would encourage the pursuit of excellence in design and quality.

CSIR-CLRI had co-ordinated the setting up of a ‘Theme Pavilion’ at the March 2006 edition of the Asia Pacific Leather Fair in Hong Kong on the occasion of “India Focus Country” awarded to ITPO & CLE.

CSIR-CLRI had also participated as a member of Jury for the first time for APLF Awards in March 2006.

Subsequently, APLF invited CSIR-CLRI as a member of the Jury in the successive editions of MM&T and Fashion Access - APLF Fairs. Exhibitors from INDIA have been winning at the Best of APLF Awards at successive editions of either MM&T or Fashion Access. There is a great amount of enthusiasm amongst the Indian Fraternity to develop new leathers/ new technologies/ new product designs and aim to win the Best of APLF Awards.
