About
Project Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPME) Department at CSIR-CLRI plays a pivotal role in facilitating the processes involved in the complete cycle of project planning, monitoring and evaluation. The Department also links the various scientific Departments of the Institute and involves in the implementation and coordination of projects from CSIR and Government of India based funding agencies. The Department acts as a central co-ordinating agency for Budgeting and Fund Allocation.

Four major R&D projects have stemmed based on the suggestions of the Research Council, as part of realizing CSIR-CLRI’s Vision 2030. Diligent efforts have been taken by CSIR-CLRI to orient the research activities of the Institute under the following 4 categories:
- Research for Sustainability of Leather Processing: Technology Paradigms for Net Zero Carbon Footprint
- Material Science Research for Footwear (Materials, Design, Process Innovation and Intelligent Manufacturing)
- Collagen Biomaterial Research
- Collagen Disease Biology
PPME coordinates the activities pertaining to orientation of research activities of CSIR-CLRI to the above four themes. The Department monitors the project progress of in-house and CSIR sponsored R&D projects and convenes Research Council, Laboratory Specific Strategic Group, Project Review and Award Committee meetings. It also facilitates implementation of SOPs/ guidelines from funding agencies, ensures visibility of advanced research opportunities to the members of CSIR-CLRI and assists in outreach activities.
