  • Resists precipitation up to a pH of 5.5 - 6.0
  • Aluminium contained in the syntan is irreversibly bound
  • Shows high affinity to vegetable tanned leathers
  • Has potential for both self- and re-tanning applications
ALUTAN
(An Aluminium Syntan)
  • Homogeneous chemical formulation
  • Contains aluminium
  • Binds irreversibly
  • Resists washing even at a pH of 7.0
  • Affords leathers which can be dyed to rich shades
  • Enables the manufacture of white leathers
  • Shows > 93% exhaustion
  • Resists precipitation to pH of 5.5 - 6.0
  • Serves as an efficient chrome saver
  • Affords soft and full leathers
  • Helps to obtain tight nap in suede
  • Protac M
  • Biotan
ORGANOZIR
(A Zirconium Tanning Agent)
  • Homogeneous chemical formulation containing zirconium
  • ZrO2 content 18-22%
  • Fuller whiter leather with no drawn grain
  • Shows > 95% exhaustion
  • Resists precipitation up to a pH of 5.5 - 6.0
  • Offers ~95oC as a solo tanning agent and above 100oC shrinkage in combination with low offer of chromium
  • Standardized at 2 kg/batch levels and available for commercialization
SPECTRATAN FE
(A Chromium-Iron Tanning Agent)
  • Chromium – Iron mixed tanning agent
  • 27% metal oxide content
  • Offers above 115oC shrinkage temperature and high exhaustions of chromium and iron
  • Devoid of all known drawbacks of iron tanning and satisfies international norms for physical and chemical properties
  • Resists precipitation up to a pH of 5.5 - 6.0
  • Enables development of natural shades in combination with vegetable tannins
  • Available for immediate commercialization
ECOCHROME 2000
(A Formaldehyde Free Chrome Syntan)
  • Homogenous formulation without formaldehyde
  • 16-18% Cr2O3 content
  • Can be used as a pickle free tanning system
  • Offers high shrinkage temperature, high uptake of chromium and is similar to conventional chrome tanning salts
  • Reduces TDS, chlorides, sulfates and chromium load on effluent from identified sectional stream
  • Leathers obtained are fuller and have smoother grain than conventional wet blue
SILICHROME
(A Chromium-Silica Tanning Agent)
  • Homogenous formulation of silica and chromium
  • Offers above 100oC shrinkage temperatures at offers above 1% metal oxide
  • Excellent softness, suppleness, stretch, fluffy and smooth grain and strength
  • Enables reduction in offer of fatliquors
  • Provides sheep like character to goat based leathers
  • Available for immediate commercialization
ECOSYN
(A Formaldehyde free synthetic tanning agent)
  • A multi-functional matrix with sulfonated aromatic compound
  • A homogeneous matrix free of formaldehyde
  • Syntan does not undergo photo-oxidation on ageing
  • Use of this syntan in tanning enhances the uptake of chromium to above 93%
  • The syntan provides a means for pickle - free chrome tanning thereby reducing the total dissolved solids (TDS) in the effluent
  • The presence of this syntan enables a reduction in the offer of filling syntans in wet-finishing by 30 - 40%
  • The use of this syntan provides an overall saving of Rs 1000 - 2000 per ton of raw material processed
ECO CHROME - S
(A Chrome tanning salt prepared using chrome shavings)
  • Chrome shavings contribute to 9 - 10% of the raw material processing and accounts for 0.8 million tons of waste globally
  • Current usage is only in the area of leather boards, building materials and hydrolyzed products
  • Stringent regulations call for safe disposal of chrome bearing solid wastes
  • Chrome shavings have been used as reductant in BCS manufacture in the place of molasses and sulfurdioxide
  • The product has 18 - 20% Cr2O3 content and exhibits high uptake of chromium
  • The presence of organic oligopeptides in the product enables pickleless tanning
  • The quality of leathers are comparable to normal wet blue leathers
  • This methodology provides a green route to the utilization of chrome shavings
PROTAC M
(Multifunctional syntan)
  • Multifunctional syntan from solid waste and biodegradable natural materials
  • Alternative to phenol formaldehyde based retanning agent
  • Provides a synergistic effect on the leather
  • Suitable product for upper leathers
BIOTAN
(An ecobenign Biotanning agent)
  • Ecobenign tanning agent
  • Prepared from collagenous material
  • Suitable for biodegradable leathers
